STMicroelectronics' M95P16-I is a high-density, page-erasable SPI EEPROM memory that combines flexibility, performance, and ultra-low power. It is the all-in-one non-volatile memory solution for ultra-low power systems that require an external NVM to boot by downloading firmware before execution in RAM, uploading firmware versions by OTA, and running parameter monitoring, data log, or event recording. The 16 Mbit page EEPROM is easy to use with byte flexibility. It opens new possibilities in the design of small modules operating on battery thanks to controlled current peaks and drastic reduction of power dissipation versus existing solutions. Fast erase and programming times reduce application latency times during firmware OTA updates. Finally, high endurance and error code correction make it one of the most reliable NVM devices on the market. M95P16-I is now available in SO8N, while DFN2X3 and WLCSP smaller packages will come later in 2023.
