An accelerometer is an electromechanical sensor used to measure acceleration along one or more axes. This component is a crucial part of many modern electronic devices, often using Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology. Accelerometers can detect both static acceleration, such as the constant force of gravity, and dynamic acceleration resulting from motion or vibration. They are frequently integrated into Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), which combine accelerometer data with information from other sensors to provide comprehensive motion and orientation tracking.
