Analog Devices’ MAX22445 is a reinforced, 4-channel digital galvanic isolator. This IC, which uses Analog Devices' proprietary process technology, is fast acting, low power and has reinforced isolation to withstand voltage ratings of 5 kilovolts RMS for sixty seconds. This digital isolator offers a unidirectional channel configuration with three channels transmitting data in one direction and one channel transmitting in the opposite direction, making it perfect for applications such as isolated SPI and RS-485 communication. And because this isolator uses independent 1.71 volt to 5.5 volt supplies on each side of the isolator, the device is well suited for use as a level translator. Ideal applications include battery management systems, medical systems, and Fieldbus communications for industrial automation.
