There are several established, or commonly used, technologies on the market for attaching heat sinks. Each has unique characteristics that may make it unsuitable for an application. The negative feature of each technology is highlighted in the yellow font for each of the solutions presented in this slide. Although no system is perfect, the Clips, short of the keep-out area (the immediate area surrounding the component) are the best solution for any component.
