ROHM’s automotive LDO regulators support PCB design with a rich package lineup and allow the use of a ceramic capacitor at the output. Phase compensation using ESR from an external capacitor is not required and is guaranteed by the design. This feature realizes the use of a small package ceramic capacitor for the output, but designers can still use an electrolytic capacitor if needed in their designs. The package lineup includes a small footprint HTSOP-8 package which contributes to the small PCB area design where board space is limited.
