The most valuable promise that Swissbit gives is that of high reliability. The same effort that is used in selecting PCB material is applied in the selection of Swissbit’s technology and suppliers. The NAND Flash components that are used are of the highest grade, and are all pre-tested to industrial temperature range. Swissbit has used the same NAND technology for their automotive cards with an impressive low FIT rate. In addition, Swissbit has modified the reference designs of the SSDs for higher signal margin and better routing. Swissbit SATA Gen3 products have 30 µ” gold, non-porous connectors. The increased gold will protect against corrosion and micro-vibration of the connector. It guarantees a stable electrical contact over the years of operation. Besides using Flash and DRAM components that are tested to industrial grade, each drive specified for extended temperature will individually be tested at between -40° and 85°C to verify a stable electrical and mechanical connection. This is verified by an extensive set of qualification tests which will be discussed on a following slide.
