TDK recommends the following steps be followed during the component selection process: 1) Material selection – the material is determined by the noise frequency that will be suppressed;

2) DC rating – the DC rating of the component should be higher than the maximum circuit current; 3) Evaluation – evaluate signal integrity with different impedance values using a circuit simulator and/or an oscilloscope; 4) EMI test – make the final decision based on the results of a noise emission test in a chamber.
