i.MX RT117H EdgeReady Crossover MCU

NXP's EdgeReady smart HMI solution leverages the i.MX RT117H crossover MCU, allowing developers to quickly and easily enable multi-modal, smart, hands-free capabilities including machine learning (ML) vision for face and gesture recognition, far-field voice control, and 2D graphical user interface (GUI) in their products. These functions can be mixed and matched to simplify overall system design using just this single NXP high-performance crossover MCU.

The i.MX RT117H is an EdgeReady member of the i.MX RT1170 family of crossover MCUs targeting embedded smart HMI applications. It features NXP’s advanced implementation of the Arm^® Cortex^®-M7 core (operating at speeds up to 1 GHz) and a power efficient Cortex-M4 core (up to 400 MHz) to provide high performance and real-time response. In addition to its turnkey vision/voice algorithm, GUI capabilities, and benefiting from its preemptive multitasking and the software framework under dual-core architecture, the i.MX RT117H also has available CPU, memory resources, and rich peripherals for the user. These features offer users the maximum flexibility to customize and define their products in different use cases.

The SLN-TLHMI-IOT development kit implements NXP’s i.MX RT117H-based smart HMI solution. The kit supports multiple out-of-box applications (which can be selected by pressing and holding SW1, SW2, or SW3 on the back of the kit when booting the kit) including coffee machines, elevators, and smart home panels (the former two are pre-flashed with the kit while the latter one can be downloaded from the GitHub). These example applications are built to showcase the complex machine vision, voice, and advanced GUI capabilities the kit supports. They also provide a base software platform for the rapid integration of unique customer applications and requirements.
