To maintain a “safe” junction temperature generated by a heat source, the heat needs to be conducted through a gap filling interface material for dissipation to the heat sink. Thermal Interface Materials are the compliant contact materials which provide an interface between surfaces to minimize the thermal impedance between the heat source and the heat sink.
