The crimp height of the contact is controlled by the insertion of the appropriate shim into the rear face of the hand tool. The shims are marked for the applicable wire size and are stored on the side of the hand tool. Remove the applicable shim from the side of the hand tool by unscrewing the knurled retaining screw and insert into the rear of the tool pushing firmly until the shim is properly located.
