Molded in nylon 66 rated 94V-0 material with circuit sizes 2 through 15, the PAF insulation displacement receptacle offers the user another mating option as part of the vast PA family series. This is the first IDC connector to incorporate a secure locking feature while using 26AWG wire with an insulation OD of 0.9mm to 1.0mm (.035” to .039”). The receptacle incorporates a metallic strain relief that securely grips the wire insulation to help relieve stress on the contacts due to vibration or impact and also provides the same grip strength as found in the insulation barrel of the PA crimp style contact. The optional secondary retainer, with four locking points, enhances safety and provides strength to help prevent accidental release, completely covering the exposed terminated ID contacts.
