The VL contacts use a tin-plated phosphor bronze material and are designed to accommodate 12 to 22AWG wire size as well as double crimping. Their large cross-sectional area and high pressure design provides higher power ratings and increased strength. The contact retention lances are also incorporated into the housings rather than protruding from the contacts which prevents damage and increases reliability.
