This slide explains the main benefits and advantage of CAN-FD interface. Compared with classical CAN, CAN-FD supports up to 64 data bytes per data frame, improving protocol efficiency while it also supports dual bit rates providing significantly higher speed than classical CAN. The reliability is also improved by leveraging the Cyclic Redundancy Check, which is available in the LPC551x/S1x MCU family.
