With the focus on lead free soldering in current manufacturing processes, the typical temperature for board processing has risen. That, combined with the growing interest in reflow compatible components has led to a rise in high temperature products being offered. These products are often molded in high temp polyamides or other high temp material and are generally black in color as the standard. Many high temp products are readily available today in both one piece configurations as well as many PCB headers. To further increase the ease of manufacturability, some products are now being packaged in tape-and-reel instead of the traditional bulk packaging.
