MSP430 is known for a wide range of innovative, very powerful, and most importantly easy-to-use tools. The Value Line does not stop at the chip level. It includes cost effective tools to reduce the entry hurdle for developers, such as: an E-Z-4-30 (E-Z- Four - Thirty) tool that is a full development system, and the free unrestricted version of the IAR’s Embedded Workbench or TI’s Code Composer Studio which will work with all Phase 1 and 2 Value Line devices. It should be noted that tools are compatible with higher end products across the MSP430 platform.
