Welcome to Texas Instruments’ NexFET™ MOSFET Technology product training module. This presentation will discuss the current trend in the power management industry: the push for energy efficient solutions and a decrease in overall solution size. Today’s power MOSFET technology addresses these requirements by providing an excellent figure of merit (FOM); that is, a significantly lower gate charge for the same on-state resistance. Therefore the device switches faster, reducing switching losses within the MOSFET. This module will explain how power designers can achieve 90% or higher power-supply efficiencies with double the frequency by utilizing advanced MOSFET technologies such as TI’s NexFET.
